App Name

This is the name that users will search for when they want to download your app as well as the name of the app on the user's phone once it is already downloaded.

Due to the stores' limitations, Pilr is unable to verify if your app name is taken until after you publish your app. If your app name does already exist, Pilr will immediately reject your app, informing you that you need to choose a different name.

In order to avoid this conflict, we recommend that you try to make your app's name as unique as possible. If you want to keep it as your business name, but you believe that its name is generic and has the risk of being taken, here are a few potential modifications to try:

• "The Official [Business Name] App" (The Official Pilr App)
• "[Business Name] - [Tagline]" (Pilr - Grow Your Audience)
• "[Business Name] by [Parent Company or Your Name]" (Pilr by Critical Angle)

If you have a registered trademark and you find that your app's name is taken, please contact us using our support page so that we can submit a claim on your behalf.

NOTE: Checking if your app's name is unique by searching that name on the stores is NOT a reliable method. Developers have the capability of reserving app names without actually publishing the app.

App Description

Your app description only appears on the stores' listing page when users search for your app. You have a lot of creative control over the description, but we recommend following these practices:

• Try to avoid being too concise. Not only should your description explain what the app does, but it should also be an opportunity to explain what your business does.
• Focus on blurbs followed by bullet points. For example:
  • Pilr is a no-code marketing-oriented app creation platform that allows bands to quickly create professional apps that facilitate user growth through the use of exclusive content. Users have access to...
    • Customizable app content: Select from a list of pre-made pages like Events, Merch, Songs, etc. and customize them to your band's needs.
    • Sending notifications to fans: Stay connected to your fanbase by scheduling notifications that keep them engaged with your content.
    • Instant app updates: No need to resubmit your app every time you make a change. Just hit Publish and your modifications will propogate to all of your users immediately.

App Icon

Your app icon should ideally be the same as the logo for your business in order to maintain consistent branding. The requirements for uploading an app icon are as follows:

• Square resolution
• At least 512px by 512px
• No transparency
• PNG or JPG file
